Collaborations

Paper or Plastic? Grego Rachko and Marcia Paisley

These portraits of iconic figures were collaborations with my studio mate Grego Rachko.  Grego and I conspired to present portraits of some of the most legendary figures occupying imaginary space on the planet.  A combination of paper collage, lamination, paint, marker and mixed media on mylar. Paper or Plastic? You don’t have to choose.

Meeting Sage Lee

In 1980, I made the Junk Food Quilt  for the “The Last Fast Food Festival” put on by Rob and Tom Breszny. Fast food on every corner was a new thing. There was a pile of free art materials suddenly on every street corner.

I met one of my earliest collaborators and art buddies at the Last Fast Food Festival, Sage (then Bruce) Lee. We were both enthusiastic about the offering of 5000-!-“Meat-n-Vue” purple plastic food trays, scavenged from behind Safeway.  Apparently meat does not look appetizing in purple. We made this Purple Healing Dome.
